At the Electronics Fair 2025, Patrik Lislén, ASIC Design Manager at Axis Communications AB, gave a presentation on the company’s in-house developed ARTPEC chip family. He explained how these chips, which have been around since 1999 and are now in their ninth generation, serve as a key component in Axis products, enabling advanced image processing and smarter surveillance solutions. Patrik provided a brief overview of their development, explained why Axis chose to design their own chips, and highlighted some of the opportunities and challenges ahead.
