Mehrdad has spent the past decade building robotics and embodied AI systems that push the boundaries of human–machine interaction. He has co-founded multiple robotics startups, including MERPHI AB in Gothenburg and Northsence AB in Sweden and the US.
He has also advised and led design teams at notable humanoid robotics companies worldwide, helping bring seven generations of adult-sized humanoid robots, as well as greenhouse, construction, and cleaning robots, from concept to reality—blending physical AI, human–robot interaction, and cutting-edge product design.
Mehrdad is also a frequent lecturer at Chalmers University of Technology and a published researcher in robotics and HRI. His philosophy is simple but bold: robots shouldn’t just work—they should connect with us on a human level.
